How to Access Your School Files at Home
Step 1: Go to the website: https://vpn.mariemontschools.org/webvpn.html
Note: don’t forget the “s” after http!
Step 2: Login using the following format:
Username: lastname.firstname
Password: (whatever your network password is)
Step 3: The following screen will appear. Click OK.
Step 4: The following screen will appear. Click on High School Students (see arrow).
Step 5: A list of folders will appear. Click on your folder.
C To make changes to one of your files, see page 2.
C To add a new file to your folder, see page 4.
Making Changes to Your School Files at Home
Step 1: Follow steps 1-5 on page 1.
Step 2: Select the file you want to edit.
Step 3: A “File Download” box will appear. Click on “Save.”
| Step 4: | Select a location on your home computer to save the file. Consider this a “temporary version” or a “local version. |
Step 5: Make whatever changes you want to the file.
Step 6: Save the changes you made to “temporary/local version” of the file.
| Step 7: | Now you need to upload the edited document back into your school file. To do this click on “Copy File to Server.” |
| Step 8: | Click on browse. Select the “temporary/local version” you saved and click “Open.” In the “Name After Copy” box, leave the file name the same if you want the new file to replace the old version. Change the name to something else if you want to keep both the old version and the new version. Click on “Copy.” |
Adding New Files to Your School Folders From Home
| Step 1: | Save the new file to your home computer (i.e. in your “My Documents” folder or wherever you save things.) |
| Step 2: | Follow steps 1-5 on page 1. |
| Step 3: | Now you need to upload the new file into your school folder. To do this click on “Copy File to Server.” |
| Step 4: | Click on browse. Select the local version you saved and click “Open.” In the “Name After Copy” box, type the file name if it doesn’t appear automatically. Click on “Copy.” |
| Congratulations! You have successfully uploaded your new file to your school folder! Please contact your troubleshooter or library staff if this is not the case. | |
